We are so grateful for your participation in the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation KitchenAid Cook for the Cure Culinary Showdown! Your passion and support helps us meet the needs of the breast cancer research community and get one step closer to a future without breast cancer.
Here are fundraising tips to get you started.
STEP 1 Register Online
Register online
and set up your Personal Fundraising Page. You are more likely to receive donations if you share
information or personal stories and post a photo.
STEP 2 Visit Your Fundraising Page
Request donations from your contacts. Email templates are provided in your Fundraising Page.
This is an excellent tool to enlist the support of your friends, family and colleagues. Let your
Facebook friends and Twitter followers know you are participating in the Culinary Showdown by
sharing the link to your fundraising page for people to donate to you.
STEP 3 Explore these fundraising ideas for inspiration.
Food Themes:
- Theme Dinner - Host a dinner with authentic food and music. Raise money by selling tickets to the dinner and asking guests to make a donation that night! Show off your culinary talent.
- Host a Barbeque – Get your friends, family and neighbours together and grill up some burgers. Raise money by charging for the dinner or for each item.
- Recipe Challenge –Stage your own culinary showdown with your friends and neighbours. Charge an entry fee for the evening and challenge everyone to bring their favourite recipe. Put the recipes into a booklet which each guest receives to take home with them.
Friends & Fun Themes:
- Movie Night - Rent a movie and invite your friends & family to a viewing. Sell tickets to the event and accept donations for the dinner before or if you don’t want to make dinner, make amazing snacks for the movie. (Make sure it’s a good movie! $20 to take part.
- Television Show Premiere Party – Gather a big group of friends to tune in to watch a big season or series premiere. You provide the food and comfy couch and they give donations per show or you can set a one-time donation fee.

- Let your Facebook friends, Twitter and Instagram followers know you are participating in the Culinary Showdown by sharing the link to your participation page for people to donate to you.
